Church Is More Than A Weekly Event

As vital as our Sunday morning and Wednesday night gatherings are, church is not an event or a location.  Church is the family of God, and there are many opportunities to connect on a deeper level with that wonderful family!  Below, we've listed a few of our regular groups and events, but feel free to contact us if you have any additional questions.

Home Groups

Currently our main Home Group meets every other Tuesday at 7 pm in various homes.  Everyone is welcome! We encourage you to find strength in community, truth in discussion, and experience a loving, authentic fellowship.  Whether you are a new or mature believer, a seeker, or anything in between, we want you to be there! For specific dates and locations, or any additional questions, contact Natalie Olson.

Ladies' Bible Study

Every Tuesday morning, ladies from many ages and backgrounds meet together to study the Bible and encourage one another.  With rich teaching, meaningful fellowship, and great tea and coffee, this is an opportunity to draw closer to Jesus and to one another.  Join us every Tuesday morning at 9:30 am at The Word Church (lower level south side entrance).  For more information, please contact Tina Kokonas at (780) 871-8837.

Men's Group

"As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." - Proverbs 27:17

This timeless truth rings just as relevant today as it did centuries ago when it was first written.  Men's group is a time of meaningful discussion of God's word, it's application in our lives, and an opportunity for men, both young and old, to encourage one another in their life and faith.

We encourage men of all ages and backgrounds to join us as we encourage and strengthen one another in the Lord.  Men's group meets every other Monday at 7:30 at the Word Church.  Please contact Tim Knourek for specific dates, or with any additional inquiries.

Monday nIght Prayer

For all of the programs and movements in the modern church, nothing truly significant can happen without prayer.  Praying together is a cornerstone of our church, and we believe that that one hour on Monday is having an eternal effect in a mighty way!  Join us at 7 pm every Monday at The Word Church as we join together in prayer, thanksgiving, and intercession for our church, our city, our nation, and the world.

TEens

We believe that the church is not complete without every age group engaging together.  The youth in our church are not a separate church or group, but a vital part of our congregation.  As it is often said, they are not the church of tomorrow, they are the church of today.  In addition to their part in the larger body, students from Grade 7- Age 20 also have the opportunity to meet together every Wednesday night to study the Bible and encourage one another, with many other events and opportunities to grow throughout the year.

The weekly youth gathering is every Wednesday night at 7 pm, where they join the church for praise and worship and then gather together for intensive Bible study and discussion.  While, always full of laughter and fun, the core of Word Church youth is spurning each other on into a deeper and more authentic relationship and walk with Jesus.
